Clara Barton Fun Facts for Kids – Reading Passage Task

Clara Barton was an American nurse, humanitarian and social reformer. She was the founder of the American Red Cross. We’ve put together a grouping of reading comprehension and Social Studies cross-curricular worksheets to help you blend your content areas and hit all of those curriculum standards.

Students will read about Clara Barton’s life and work in this passage. Following the reading, there are three additional worksheets that provide additional skill practice in the following areas.

Through these social studies worksheets, students will learn about Clara Barton’s contributions during the Civil War and to American history.

An answer key is included with this resource for easy grading.

Ways to Use This Printable Clara Barton and the Civil War Worksheet

Use this comprehension activity to build a week or more of your Civil War lesson plans. You could pair this passage with many different activities, including a Clara Barton wanted poster or even an in-class Clara Barton or Civil War project.
